İstinye University and Cambridge University Collaborate to Launch Türkiye’s First “Assessment Training Center”

The Department of Foreign Languages at İstinye University has been designated as Türkiye’s first “Cambridge University Assessment Training Center.” As a branch of Cambridge University’s expertise in assessment, the center offers training programs tailored for professionals, aiming to share knowledge and skills in measurement and evaluation. The center will help educators at all levels enhance their measurement and evaluation knowledge & abilities.

The Assessment Network at Cambridge University focuses on contributing to the professional development necessary for effective measurement and evaluation practices. The training programs aim to equip practitioners with the knowledge needed to design, develop, and implement assessment tools. Through various training modules, the center supports educators in adopting effective methods for assessment, offering vital resources on exam design, student evaluation tools, and data analysis.

These training programs are designed to support educators’ professional development, not only improving classroom practices but also enhancing their methodologies and assessment processes. The programs help participants gain practical skills in critical areas such as exam creation, evaluation techniques, and data-driven decision-making.

About the “Cambridge University Assessment Training Center” Program:

Participants who successfully complete all training modules will receive a certificate jointly approved by Cambridge University and İstinye University. The program is offered in two formats: in-person and online, with applicants undergoing a pre-assessment prior to acceptance. In-person training will consist of 15 hours, with no participant limit, while online training modules will consist of 30 hours in total, limited to 20 participants. The program is designed for a range of educators including K-12 teachers and university faculty members.

İstinye University’s Foreign Languages Department Measurement and Evaluation Unit Coordinator, Teaching Assistant Erdem Aydemir, completed the first “Assessment Network Instructor Program” in April 2024, earning accreditation to deliver the following A10 measurement and evaluation courses both in-person and online:

A102: Introduction to the Practice of Measurement and Evaluation
